Randy Pausch on time management

I took the time to watch Mr. Pausch's video on time management, and i think he had some really good points. Americans as a whole do tend to only focus on money and not on time, and that people love to procrastinate. I am very guilty of the latter, however I think Mr. Pausch had the right idea when he was talking about making a to do list for each day as well as a plan for the day, week, and semester. Its all about giving yourself a goal to work toward, as well as a reminder of what you are supposed to be doing, and by doing things on those lists giving yourself a sense of accomplishment for a job well done.

  1. Ashton,

The information about you was very interesting. I have actually never heard of Excel, Alabama so it is neat to hear about it. Maybe you could post a picture of the town.

You sound like a regular handyman and seem to have many different interests. However, Blog Post 1 was supposed to contain both the information about you and the part about Randy Pausch all in one post (rather than two). I am glad you got something out of Mr. Pausch's video, but did you find out who he is?

Lastly, welcome to EDM 310! I cannot wait to see what you post in the upcoming assignments!

Tip: Be sure to capitalize your "I's" in future posts!

  2. Hey Ashton!

I found Randy Pausch's video on time management somewhat helpful. Although I tend to still have trouble with procrastination. I am currently going through a transformation so I am getting it together. I have a lot to accomplish and I can only reach my goals by being responsible and organized. You definitely pointed out the points Pausch talked about. I look forward to more blogs from you.

I too had a great time reviewing Randy Pausch's video on time management. I also had an issue with procrastination, but in EDM310 there is no room for that. I have been working really hard and have found that If I manage wisely there will be enough time for other things if you get the important stuff (school work) out of the way.

  4. Hello Ashton,

Although I have enough of a substantial memory that I do not really need a "to-do-list", I can see how it would be helpful for the general populace. You did a good job reviewing his video, and you're right when you say that Americans tend to focus more on money than time.

In the future, just make sure to include a hyperlink to his video and try to be a little more thorough. You haven't done any assignments past this, so I doubt you will even read this. Good luck anyways!

  5. Hello Ashton,
It's good that you learned to create a "to-do" list from the video. Glad it was helpful. The only criticism that I would have is for you to elaborate more on the video, and be sure to proofread before you post! Overall, good job with the amount that you did post.
Note: You can edit your post after you read this.

    =Ashley! :)
